NewEdge Advisors is looking for a highly skilled, service-minded associate to support our Trading and Investment Operations Division. This role will fill a senior level position on the team across investment operations and trading operations. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills and can take ownership of investment operations amongst the larger team and division. The ability to provide strong administrative support, organize workflows, document procedures and prioritize multiple job tasks is necessary to successfully perform the job functions.

 

Location: The ideal candidate will be located in the New Orleans area, with the ability to report to our office there. Remote candidates may also be considered if they are located near a travel hub with easy access to New Orleans. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Trading Operations

  • Execute trades in various financial instruments.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of trades and market activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize trading processes.
  • Provide market insights and reports to management.
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of various departmental policies and procedures.
  • Create presentations, marketing content, and deliverables for staff, colleagues, clients, and business development
  • Deep understanding and fluency across our entire investment offering: what we built, why we built it, with conviction in making recommendations across RIA solutions:
    • NewEdge UMA solution
    • SMA/UMA/3rd party offerings
    • Alternatives, Annuities, Direct RIA business

Investment Operations Support

  • Support existing and transitioning advisor offices with establishing firm relationships and client accounts for all RIA direct business, including Alternatives, 401Ks / Retirement Plans, Insurance Policies, Annuities, and 529 accounts, etc.
  • Coordinate RIA direct business processing between investments, compliance, operations, billing and compensation department
  • Coordinate with Managing Director on setup and service of in-house brokerage and commission accounts.
  • Work with various carriers and advisor offices to maintain selling agreements, initiate new agreements and update or terminate existing agreements as needed.
  • Maintain databases (Salesforce or Redtail) by performing basic functions such as entering information or creating service requests related to direct business
  • Work with the internal Data Specialist to establish data feeds for third party accounts if applicable to multiple portfolio management systems
  • Act as a liaison between the advisors and various NEA departments to ensure timely follow-up
  • Perform additional assigned tasks by Managing Director and departmental Director(s)

Platform Growth, Recruiting and Transitions Support

  • Work with Portfolio Managers and Platform Consultants to facilitate solution mapping for committed recruits, understanding how, when, and where to drive firm revenue using Centralized Investment Solutions
  • Create templates and presentations for recruit mapping
  • Support Divisional Leadership, Investment Solutions Advocate and Portfolio Managers as required.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of financial securities experience
  • Degree in finance, finance planning, economics, business, management, or related field
  • Series 7 preferred
  • Series 65/66 required
  • CMT, CFA, CFP, MBA, CIMA, or other advanced designations encouraged.
  • Past operational experience with RIA and/or Broker Dealer business
  • Superior communication and networking skills
