Position Summary

The Fiduciary Investment Advisor (FIA) will be responsible for new wealth management client acquisition of investment, trust, and financial planning relationships in addition to providing a high-level service model to existing client base. The FIA will leverage both working relationships from his/her existing client base and already established American Trust clients in addition to centers of influence within the professional community. The goals of this position are to build strong, long-lasting relationships with centers of influence and clients and manage the sales and service process effectively and efficiently in the development of new business and client retention for American Trust.

Essential Responsibility

Sales: Identify and cultivate current and new relationships with clients/prospects, corporations, and centers of influence. Execute a comprehensive business development calling plan which displays high levels of activity to acquire new wealth management opportunities. Meet or exceed growth, profitability, and retention goals by ensuring an appropriate quantity and quality of proposals are in the sales pipeline. Effectively communicate American Trust’s unique capabilities and value proposition to clients, prospects and centers of influence. Enhance already existing relationships with the firm to acquire stronger relationships and referrals. Establish and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with centers of influence such as internal and external partners such as CPAs, attorneys, civic associations, and other individuals and organizations that will enhance business development efforts. Maintain a strong community presence via networking, volunteer work, and social media.
Service: Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other American Trust employees who are designated to support Wealth Management client service and business development efforts. Develop and implement ongoing service protocol for all new client relationships sold. Participate in the on-boarding process for new accounts as needed. Ensure an integrated and seamless approach. Provide mentoring to staff to foster high level of professionalism, client service and responsiveness. Be an advocate for clients and the Division with other business units.
Serve as a personal financial planning/advisory resource for clients, their attorneys and CPAs. Work within existing audit, compliance and regulatory framework in order to ensure a high quality, compliant portfolio of client relationships.
Maintain accurate and up to date records within CRM to help complete effective marketing campaigns to prospects and clients and maintain accurate sales reporting.
Assist in marketing activities such as presentations, seminars and conferences.
Establish and periodically update understanding of client financial needs and conditions based upon sound profiling and personal financial planning analysis.
Contribute to the team environment and become an influential team member by serving on various committees and projects when called upon.
Work with Marketing Director and Managing Director to maintain effective sales and marketing plan to acquire new clients and expand current client relationships.
Promote organizational skills so daily activities are properly organized and deadlines are met.
Keep abreast of changing economic, legal, financial planning, investment trends and general market and business issues impacting our client base.
